Specialist endometriosis care in Kentucky
Kentucky's two academic centers are about 70 air miles apart, and both belong to public universities. The University of Louisville School of Medicine is the state's site on the AAGL Complex Benign Gynecology Fellowship listing, and UofL Health offers a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery service at UofL Health Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville that lists endometriosis among the conditions it treats and provides training to its fellows. UK HealthCare in Lexington is the other academic option; no separately named endometriosis program could be confirmed on its pages, so none is listed for Lexington.

In the state, 49.2 percent of counties have no obstetric clinician, 67.5 percent have no birthing facility, 76.2 percent of rural counties lack one, and women travel 19 minutes on average to the nearest hospital with labor and delivery services, with 110,000 women more than 30 minutes away.
Kentucky adopted Medicaid expansion, per KFF's October 2026 status table. The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services keeps a maternal and child health page listing state programs.
