Specialist endometriosis care in Nevada

Nevada has two public medical schools, the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV in Las Vegas. UNLV's Department of Gynecologic Surgery and Obstetrics lists minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and urogynecology among the care it provides. In the north, UNR Med and Renown Health describe an integrated obstetrics and gynecology department with clinical operations at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, created in part to address a shortage of OB-GYN specialists in northern Nevada. No Nevada hospital appears on the AAGL's list of fellowship sites in complex benign gynecology.

The two halves of the state are far apart. Las Vegas is about 350 air miles from Reno and about 230 from Los Angeles, so for southern Nevada the nearer out-of-state academic hospitals are in California, not in Reno.

Nevada adopted the Affordable Care Act's Medicaid expansion, according to KFF. The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health is the state public health agency.
