Specialist endometriosis care in Texas

Texas has named programs in its largest cities. In Houston, Baylor College of Medicine's Endometriosis Center says it is dedicated solely to endometriosis and related health issues, with treatment by board-certified, fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons skilled in excision surgery who work with other Baylor specialties; Baylor also lists a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. In Dallas, UT Southwestern's endometriosis page says its gynecologists use laparoscopy to diagnose, remove and excise endometriosis tissue and scar tissue, and that disease on the bowel, bladder or elsewhere can be removed by a multidisciplinary team. In Austin, UT Health Austin, the clinical practice of Dell Medical School, lists hormone therapy, pelvic floor physical therapy and surgery among endometriosis treatments. UT Physicians in Houston refused automated requests, and we could not verify a named program in San Antonio.

El Paso is about 500 miles from San Antonio in a straight line, Amarillo about 330 from Dallas, Lubbock about 300 from Dallas, McAllen about 220 from San Antonio and Corpus Christi about 130; Austin and San Antonio are about 70 miles apart, and Dallas and Houston about 230.

Texas has not adopted the Affordable Care Act Medicaid expansion, according to KFF's October 2026 tracker. America's Health Rankings' 2026 report puts 4.2 percent of Texas women aged 15 to 44 in a county with no hospital or birth center offering obstetric care and no obstetric clinicians. The Texas Department of State Health Services publishes the state's maternal and child health resources.
