Specialist endometriosis care in Arkansas

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock describes itself as the state's only academic medical center. Its endometriosis page lists minimally invasive gynecologic surgery among treatments and directs patients to the UAMS Women's Center in Little Rock, but it does not name a separate endometriosis, minimally invasive surgery, or pelvic pain program, and Arkansas has no site on the AAGL Complex Benign Gynecology Fellowship listing.

Northwest Arkansas is far from that center: Fayetteville is about 140 air miles from Little Rock, and Dallas, another referral option, is about 290. The March of Dimes 2026 report classifies 44 percent of Arkansas counties as maternity care deserts, home to about 78,000 women ages 15 to 44. In the state, 45.3 percent of counties have no obstetric clinician and 62.7 percent have no birthing facility, and women travel 22 minutes on average to the nearest hospital with labor and delivery services, against a national average of 16. Those are maternity figures rather than endometriosis figures, but they map where a gynecology visit of any kind means leaving the county.

Arkansas adopted Medicaid expansion, per KFF's October 2026 status table. The Arkansas Department of Health keeps a women's health page listing state programs.
