Specialist endometriosis care in Oklahoma

Oklahoma's academic gynecologic surgery is in Oklahoma City. The OU College of Medicine's obstetrics and gynecology department has a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery section that describes care for complex benign conditions including endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids and painful periods, lists laparoscopic excision of endometriosis and laparoscopic hysterectomy among its procedures, and offers long-term follow-up for chronic conditions such as endometriosis. The section says it currently has one fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon. OU Health's own patient site refused automated requests, so it is not cited here. In Tulsa, Saint Francis Health System lists minimally invasive surgery and urogynecology within its women's health services, but we could not verify a named endometriosis or pelvic pain program there.

Tulsa is about 100 miles from Oklahoma City in a straight line, Lawton about 80 and Enid about 70, so reaching the state's fellowship-trained surgeon usually means a trip to the capital.

Oklahoma adopted the Affordable Care Act Medicaid expansion after voters approved it in June 2020, with coverage starting in July 2021, so adults with incomes up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level can qualify. America's Health Rankings' 2026 report puts 10.0 percent of Oklahoma women aged 15 to 44 in a county with no hospital or birth center offering obstetric care and no obstetric clinicians. The Oklahoma State Department of Health's Maternal and Child Health Service publishes the state's women's and family health resources.
